Saving water through smart technology

While most of us take access to water for granted, millions of people deal with water scarcity on a daily basis. And by 2030, that will be true for 40% of the world’s population. Smartvatten is committed to preserving water. Through machine learning and real-time data capture, Smartvatten enables property owners to detect leakages early on, enabling fast action to avoid damage and excessive water consumption. Smartvatten estimates that its solutions detected 41,000 leakages and saved over 12 million cubic metres of water in 2021 – equivalent to 4,800 Olympic-sized swimming pools. As well as saving water, the company’s technology helps customers reduce their carbon emissions by using heated water more efficiently. On average, Smartvatten’s customers cut 20% of their water costs as well as free up their maintenance crews’ valuable time. The company is working towards international standards (ISO) accreditation for its systems for quality management and environmental management. Smartvatten’s people focus includes plans for a leadership training programme for greater employee empowerment.
